We’re excited to share that we are one of 750 grantees selected to receive a 2026 AARP Community Challenge grant from @AARPLivableCommunities and @aarpiowa!

We’re incredibly proud to receive this investment to help make Solon more livable for people of all ages. With this grant, we will start the Solon Safe at Home program- Low-cost safety modifications will be installed to help older adults reduce fall risk and remain safely at home.

The next movie will be Fried Green Tomatoes on Monday July 6th at 2pm at the Solon Community Center. Free popcorn!

Fried Green Tomatoes follows a discontented housewife who befriends an elderly woman in a nursing home and becomes captivated by her stories of two women’s enduring bond in 1920s Alabama. Interweaving past and present, it's a warm, humorous, and moving tale of friendship, resilience, and self-discovery. With powerful performances and heartfelt storytelling, it’s widely praised as a charming and uplifting watch.
