The next movie will be State Fair (1945) on Monday August 3rd at 2pm at the Solon Community Center. Free popcorn!
State Fair (1945) follows the Frake family’s trip to the Iowa State Fair, where each member pursues personal hopes — from prizewinning livestock and cooking contests to new romances. The only Rodgers and Hammerstein musical written directly for film, it charms with Technicolor visuals, warm humor, and memorable songs like the Oscar-winning “It Might as Well Be Spring.” Light, wholesome, and nostalgic, it’s a feel-good slice of Americana worth watching for fans of classic musicals.
